As I moved my eyes in the children ward of Kamuzu central Hospital on the night of tuesday, my mouth could not hold it but remain agape wondering what is going on.
filled to capacity like people queiing for maize at an ADMARC depot was what i saw, children being loaded on one bed to the suffocating space of the hospital was unbelievable. My sister was admitted at this hospital and they were two on the bed one facing the other direction as the other lied in agony the other direction with their feet meeting at the end. almost all the beds were surronded by relatives feeling sorry for the unfortunate kids.
with the smell of medicine in the hospital, the dizziness probability could not be overuled as everything became annoying and horrible.
a call to funders, governments and organisation to bail out these kids by providing more beds and room for in patients, people are no longer sick of diseases but the need for care and good condition, my experience was worthy remembering and has left a mark inmy head that will take years to forget.
even the gurdians in the roiom could not sleep as the had overflowed the space than the patients themselves. i tell you it was horrible, horrible, horrible
