Lilongwe Corps hosts gospel variety show

Against all odds indeed! What seemed impossible became a reality on a cloudy afternoon of Sunday the 23rd of November 2008.

The church has a need and they decided to use the youth department to raise money for the brick fence project currently underway. The function was one of the most outstanding of all recent shows that have been taking place in the area. A cloud of uncertainty engulfed peoples’ minds when at exactly 12:30am electrical black out erupted. This was after the very first heavy rain downfall in the area that has made people remember where they kept there hoes.

Not well patronized though, soon after the lights came back people started flocking to the venue to witness this occasion, not only the rain and the blackout was a hindrance, there was also a funeral at Mzondo community and about 80 percent of the church had gone there to be with our collegues in the funeral ceremony,this made many miss the occasion as they came back soaked in rain water but still braved it to attend the function.

Oooh ya! It started with a bomb of dancing and shaking on the flooor as the Djayz kept everyone dancing for about twenty minutes with different gospel music hits, then Emmanuel Mwale the MC called on individuals and roups who had gathered to take to the stage with their amazing performances. Truly it was a never to miss occasion.

The fear had varnished and thins started moving, what mesmerized more was a six year old girl perfoming lord I lift your name on high, people could not hold themselves but flock and shower her with money in disbelief.

Then came raffle draw time with lucky winners going away with Christmas cards and other assorted items, then came the quiz that was both biblical and general led by Brown Kamwendo, Kelving Msowoya couldn’t hold his fingers but punched the kkeyboard buttons in performance afterwards………….was all great

People now thinking of organizing a gospel community idols shows in December, those who doubt it better think again!
