NOT ON CHILDREN PLEASE

If it is started by police what will a common man do.

There is no defense for any form of torture and cruelty, it has to be denounced and condemned no matter from who it comes from

As I sat reading the Nation newspaper of Thursday the 27th of November, the headline itself made me realize that it should be something to do with torture and bad attitude on somebody, the innocent faces on the front page of the paper made me read the article and make a comment about it.

I can understand when torture is perpetuated on journalist and any other civil activists as they are there to defend and a bit they need to feel the pitch of defending, however it should be on limit. Yes Emmanuel Chibwana had his fate with the same police we are talking about here, does beating and torturing help in reforming and molding somebody? No.

It is becoming too much for our police to be involved in such an human scenarios, it would have been better if they were in the news all the time for all the good reason, they are there as they to safe guard and uphold human rights at all cost.

It does not matter what crime you commit but leaving you with psychological and physical bruises dents your life for a long time, that’s when trauma jumps in to annoy you even more.

I know I police does not expect the children to be sent by anybody to testify against them or say anything bad about them, thanks the journalist have done there job here. The children have felt it and from what I know the police when they are looking for evidence to persecute anybody, anything said by a child of the ages mentioned in the newspaper they believe. What will make us not to believe what the children are saying?

Worse of all, instead of our dear police to investigate the matter as they are trained, they have already thrown in a pitch of doubt, what will become of the elections if this is starting now? I would expect them to rise above anything and start building there image, not for the sake of their image of course but for the good of the country.

I do not mind the minister of defense and internal security commenting on this one, to me a crime is a crime but it should not dehumanize our lives and others of innocent people. Should we conclude that reform in the police has failed or it is just a few fish that is making the whole basket smell? The fish seems seems untouchable and is continuously abusing the powers vested on them, it’s a challenge we have to overcome, something is wrong and it has to be curbed in the system.

The children mentioned in paper need proper care to overcome the trauma they are going through, being threatened with a gun is the worse of it all that you can do to any human being.
Some of the policemen, like children seem to learn wrong from different movies that they watch, they need to realize that the movies are there to teach and not to be implemented wrongly as they do nowadays.
