GENERATIONAL DESTRUCTION THROUGH IGNORANCE

She never realized that there was death inside the relation ship she though she was enjoying at one time

It all started as friendly affair of hug and go with a lot of passion. Not knowing things will generate to seriousness of sleeping together. That was how she messed up her life. A life everybody in her family thought would become a shining example to many in her community.

In her class she was a bright, clever and intelligent brain that for many to beat her was like a mountain to climb. She outshined them all. No wonder they nicknamed her the shining star. This continued until she did her standard seven.

Then real life began to take center stage in her, forgetting the huge responsibility that was lying ahead of her as she had neither mother nor father, she was living with her grandparents. She started to know to make relationship after being cheated by friends that that’s the only way she could survive at the school and be a name above other names. For a long time she denied sexual relationship, but the demand was too huge for her to resist.

So early for her, she was pregnant, it started with vomiting and then fever and she did not realize what was going on with her life. For a moment she forgot how people catch pregnancy.

Then the doctor confirmed she was HIV/AIDS positive, grandparents and the family lost the whole hope in her that they could not hold there fear but advise for an abortion that the child born should not be infected to. However the doctor advised that it was possible for the born child to be born negative only if proper care is taken during delivery and if the mother is taking good care of herself by taking proper medication

The 14 years old girl was put on life prolonging medication with an aim also of preventing mother to child transmission; soon her healthy began to improve. she was advised that being HIV positive does not mean having AIDS. And told to eat well and forget about too much worry. She had to put on brevity and leave by it.

She regrets the day she was cheated into sex, she lost everything she thought she would become.

However today she believes a lot of people are dying because of ignorance and negligence. She has taken on the bold step of educating her fellow peers through dramas in knowing about premarital sex and sexual relationships. She believes future preparation starts with positive mind and concentrated.
